Area IV Agency on Aging and Community Action Programs The Area IV office is located at the Brooks Center at 901 Prince William Road Suite D, in Delphi. Indiana National Guard ArmoryThe Armory is located in the sourthern part of Delphi at 711 Armory Road. The phone number is 765-564-3458. The Indiana National Guard is a reserve component of the U. S. Army and may be called into service by the President. During peace times, the National Guard is commanded by the governor. In its state role, the National Guard assists local law enforcement agencies during emergencies at the direction of the governor. Soil and Water Conservation District OfficeThe Soil and Water Conservation District Office is located south of Delphi at 1523 N US Highway 421, Suite 2. The phone is 765-564-4480 or 765-564-2849. The office is open 8 am until 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. Joe O’Donnell, District Conservationist, can be reached by phone or email. Administrative Assistant and SWCD Treasurer is Rhonda Hicks. Now a part of the Indiana Department of Agriculture, Division of Soil Conservation, the Carroll County SWCD office was formed by local citizens who were concerned about soil erosion within their counties. The Carroll County SWCD was formed in 1949. The purpose of the SWCD is to "provide information about soil, water, and related natural resource conservation; identify and prioritize local soil and water resource concerns; and connect land users to sources of educational, technical and financial assistance to implement conservation practices and technologies."
The SWCD works with local, state, and federal governments in the delivery of services. O'Donnell is a federal employee of the United States Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service, assigned to the Carroll County SWCD as the District Conservationist.
The SWCD is governed by a board of supervisors, consisting of three elected and two appointed supervisors. Current members are Michael Beale, Chair; Joshua Howard, Vice Chair; Mark Mills; and Jason Oyler. There is one vacant position. |
