Burlington Park
Burlington Park, located on Highway 22 at the eastern edge of Burlington in southeastern Carroll County, is a thirty-acre, modern park with numerous facilities. It includes three lighted ball diamonds with bleachers as well as basketball and tennis courts, horseshoe pits, paved walking trail, and a wooded nature area.
Two picnic shelters with tables, park benches, and a large playground are also available along with restrooms. A large community building is also available for public meetings and for rent for private parties.
The
Burlington Community Club has been instrumental in the evolution of this park since 1974 when the town and township bought the first tract of land. The Park is jointly owned by the town and township and is governed by a Park Board of representatives from each entity. The Burlington Kiwanis have helped with the provision of picnic tables and playground equipment.
The Memorial Park Building was built in 1974 and doubled in size in 1992, both financed entirely by private donations. The Community building has two kitchens with refrigerators and ranges, a lighted stage, and four inside restrooms. It can comfortably seat 250 people at tables or about 300 without tables.
A large pole building is used for indoor booth space during the Burlington Fall Festival and is available to rent for large gatherings such as auction sales. It also contains kitchen facilities.
The park is home to the Fall Festival sponsored by the Burlington Community Club. Part of the extensive park grounds includes outdoor electrical hook-ups to accommodate booths at the Festival and other outdoor events.
