Festivals

Throughout the year, Carroll County hosts a variety of festivals and events for your family’s enjoyment. The season kicks off with the Carroll County Garden Fair in April at the Flora Community Park Merchants Building. This is truly a gardener’s delight!

The Carroll County Hog Jog in June has been known throughout the midwest for the last 31 years. It includes a 10K and 2-Mile run, a 2-mile walk, and even a 50 meter Runt Jog for the kids. It also originates at Flora Community Park.

The Canal Days festival is held every 4th of July weekend at Canal Park in Delphi with narrated trail walks, activities for children, and plenty of food. Canal transportation is celebrated at the Wabash & Erie Canal Park and Interpretive Center. In 2009, the new replica canal boat, The Delphi, was introduced. Rides are available each weekend.

The most historically significant county festival is Old Settlers which has taken place each August since 1855! Its roots trace back to an annual meeting of the original settlers of the county. It is held Thursday through the second Saturday each August. Historic programs, special dinners, a carnival, and other activities are featured on the courthouse square and other venues throughout Delphi. Also downtown, the Delphi Opera House and the Opera House Gallery of Contemporary Art feature tours of the facility and an exhibition of local artists and don't miss the Chapel Gallery for a unique venue featuring over a dozen artists.

The most recent event is the Indiana Bacon Festival held in Delphi during the last Saturday of August featuring Bacon, Bands, & Brew! Live music, great food items featuring Indiana Kitchen brand bacon, family fun zone, craft beer & wine, and more. Event supports over 15 non-profit organizations and attracts visitors from all over the US.

If you’re into tractors, you won’t want to miss the annual Camden Tractor Pull or the Pork Pull. Or for just good old family fun you will want to catch Deer Creek, Burlington, and Camden’s annual festivals. Flora’s Depot Day Festival is a full day of events from town-wide garage sales to food booths, shopping, games and live entertainment. To round out the year on the first Saturday in December, you can celebrate the Burlington Christmas Walk and an Old-Fashioned Christmas at Canal Park and enjoy music, walking trails, and homemade apple dumplings!
